I grew up in Potomac, MD and graduated from Thomas S. Wootton High School in Rockville. I graduated with a B.A. from Virginia Tech and an M.S. in Computer Systems Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus. During my long career in Information Technology, I worked in various roles including software development, quality assurance, IT and project management, customer service, training, and technical writing.

I have always been around dogs, and after meeting Noelle became the proud parent of a variety of dogs, cats, ferrets, and even a bunny. Together we operate a small zoo which now consists only of 3 dogs and 4 cats. We also raised two fine children, Katie and Kyle (twins), who are adored by all of our furry companions.

In 2015, Noelle and I purchased A Walk in the Park from the two founders, Rachel Newman and Jolie Brown. I retired from IT to run the new business full-time for the next 4 1/2 years. I enjoy the challenges this business brings, and loved to tell people that I had the greatest job because I got to talk about pets all day. You can't beat that if you're a pet lover!

In 2020 I returned to IT for full-time employment, as the pet care industry took a significant hit during the first year of the Covid-19 pandemic. I still handle most of the back-office work, particularly where technology is concerned! I miss working directly with the customers, staff, and pets (of course!) But Noelle does a fine job running the business and I couldn't ask for a better, more dedicated, or more caring partner.

I am one of the owners of A Walk in the Park. I have always loved animals and have had animals my whole life. Growing up in Baltimore, I remember my mother used to take in all the strays. When one of our pets would go to Rainbow Bridge another would appear on our porch. Over the years I have had dogs, cats, bunnies, ferrets, fish, and a pet mouse.

I have a degree in International Business and was a Technical Writer / Process Analyst for over 25 years. My wife Amy and I had been searching for years to find a business that we are passionate about. We were lucky enough to find A Walk in the Park. Now I can finally say that I love my job. I can't believe it took so long to figure this out.

We have 7 pets (3 cats, 4 dogs). All are rescues with various issues. We also have twins, Katie and Kyle, and they too share our love for animals.
